Vibe-Coding Templates: The Best Starter Kits for SaaS & Bots (2026)

AI coding tools are fast at adding features and slow at inventing a sound project structure. Hand them an empty folder and every prompt reshapes the app. Hand them a starter kit and they fill in the gaps.

This guide shows what a good vibe-coding template contains, which open-source starters exist, and which ready-made kits you can buy on Botnexio.

What makes a template good for vibe coding

A template for AI-assisted coding needs more than boilerplate. Look for:

  1. A clear stack the AI knows well. Next.js with TypeScript, or discord.js for bots, are well-documented choices.
  2. Rules files for your AI tool. AGENTS.md, Cursor .mdc rules or CLAUDE.md tell the agent your conventions up front (see Cursor Rules vs. AGENTS.md).
  3. An .env.example. The AI can see which keys exist without ever seeing your real secrets.
  4. Honest scope. The listing should say what is not included (auth, database, hosting), so you know what you'll prompt for next.
  5. A licence that fits. Check whether you may use it in client or commercial projects.

Open-source starters worth knowing

Two well-known free starting points, described from their own pages:

  • Next.js SaaS Starter (Vercel, MIT licence): a marketing page, a pricing page connected to Stripe Checkout, a dashboard with users/teams, basic Owner/Member roles, the Stripe Customer Portal and email/password auth. The stack is Next.js, Postgres, Drizzle, Stripe and shadcn/ui.
  • Create T3 App: a CLI built around Next.js and TypeScript, with Tailwind CSS, tRPC, Prisma or Drizzle, and NextAuth.js as optional pieces. You start it with npm create t3-app@latest.

Both are larger starting points. Whether a full-stack starter or a lean one suits you depends on how much you want to add yourself; our Next.js SaaS starter kit checklist helps you decide.

Which kit for which project

  • Landing page or small app, AI does most of the work: Vibe Coding Starter.
  • Subscription SaaS: SaaS Starter, then prompt for auth and a database.
  • Marketplace with seller payouts: Stripe Connect Minimal.
  • Discord bot: Discord Bot Starter (walkthrough: Discord bot with discord.js v14, in German).
  • Want everything (auth, DB, teams) from day one: an open-source full-stack starter such as the ones above.

Prompting on top of a template

  • Point the agent at the rules file first, then ask for one feature at a time.
  • Keep real keys in .env, never in a prompt; the AI only needs .env.example.
  • After each change, run the app and read the diff before asking for the next feature.

Add your own rules

Already have a template and only need the AI rules? The Cursor + Claude Code Rules Pack by Aramac adds 13 rules plus AGENTS.md and CLAUDE.md templates, checked against the Cursor rules format (.mdc, as of October 2026). Personal, non-commercial use only. €19 incl. VAT. Free updates until 16.04.2027.

FAQ

What is a vibe-coding template?
A starter project with a fixed stack, structure and rules files, so an AI coding tool adds features to a working base instead of inventing the project from scratch.

Are there free vibe-coding templates on GitHub?
Yes. For example, Vercel's Next.js SaaS Starter is MIT-licensed, and Create T3 App generates a Next.js and TypeScript project from the command line.

Do the Botnexio kits include hosting?
No. They are delivered as a ZIP after payment, and you run them on your own hosting.

Can I use a Botnexio template in client projects?
For the four kits listed here, the product pages allow use in your own and client projects, including commercially. Reselling the template itself is not allowed. The Rules Pack is for personal, non-commercial use only.

Do I need a specific AI coding tool?
No. The Vibe Coding Starter includes rules for AGENTS.md, Cursor, Claude Code and GitHub Copilot, but the AI tool or subscription is not included.
